Stayed here for one night on our way from Essex to Devon. Lovely room (number 4) with lots of character situated at the front of the hotel. Comfortable bed. Tea and coffee facilities with fresh milk provided in a small thermos flask. Good selection of toiletries.
I live near the Penn Mill and occasionally pop in for a drink but I thought I would try the food last weekend and it was amazing! The food was exceptional, probably the best pub Sunday Lunch I've ever had. Some pubs try to be clever and it doesn't work. The Penn Mill have it just right, the meat choices were very good and everything was cooked to perfection, absolutely beautiful meal. The chefs on the carvery were cheery and friendly as are the bar staff. The restaurant and bar area are tastefully furnished and decorated and very cosy. Definitely worth a visit, but make sure you book.
We took the advise of other reviews and have enjoyed all the facilities of this Hotel, Bar and Restaurant over last weekend. All their 8 rooms are on the 1st floor of the Bar area but we didn’t experience any noise.The rooms are nice, clean and have very comfortable beds. Power showers and the unlimited hot water are really good to get rid of all the days tiredness from numerous walking activities of the Jurassic Coastline.
Well I’ll risk being boring and repetitive by largely echoing my previous reviews, as Pen Mill ticked all the boxes for us yet again.
On our arrival, we were greeted personally by the owner Jon (it was lovely to be recognised despite the fact that we’re only in Somerset - and therefore staying at the Pen Mill - once a year). Again, our room was scrupulously clean with a very comfortable bed, efficient shower and those little extra touches - like fresh milk in a small Thermos flask.
Brilliant delicious food and dog friendly. Great! Would highly recommend, especially as we had not found Yeovil to be particularly dog friendly especially in Wetherspoons which doesn't even allow dogs outside!!!
We went here for lunch with friends who had been here before. They highly recommended it and rightly so. The fish and chips were perfect, absolutely gorgeous. The staff were so nice and friendly and made sure that everything was just right. It was so good that we booked to go for a Christmas lunch in December.
This evening we booked in with a party of 7 of us. Very good meal was had by all of us. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent choices on the carvery menu. Thank you. Anyone else thinking of having a meal at The Pen Mill advise you book in advance!
