Rooms
Our rooms are by no means palatial, but they are warm, cosy, well ventilated and spotlessly clean. Furnished with British made beds of a fantastic quality that put most five-star hotels to shame. Cheap is not an option when the bed is the hub of the room. Our Deluxe Superior room also boasts a Cornish, handmade brass bedstead. On the floor, locally made Axminster carpet. One of the best carpet’s money can buy. Our bathrooms, some large, some small, but all boast hot, powerful and relaxing showers to wake you after a sumptuous night's sleep or invigorate you after a long, hard day.
All rooms also come with Nespresso coffee machines, premium quality tea, complimentary mineral waters, and luxury biscuits, electric fans, hairdryers (hair straighteners upon request) and a personal safe. All front-facing rooms are fitted with secondary double glazing. Well done to our wonderful Housekeeper, Auntie Chris, who keeps the Pen Mill spotlessly clean for all to appreciate. She is part of the three generations of Jon & Sarah’s family that work here at the hotel.

32” Panasonic ‘Smart’ TV’s with Freeview, Netflix and Amazon Prime Apps. Just log in and it will be like home from home. Wifi is available throughout the hotel for free. No maximum download limits. No limits on how many devices you can log on with. No hidden extra costs.
Inclusive Somerset Breakfast!
There's a fantastic Somerset Breakfast Menu, included in the price! This, according to our customer's is, 'Fantastic'. Again, check out our reviews! It is also highly commended in our Taste of the West Review. Not only can you choose a traditional ‘Full English’ or ‘Full Somerset’ as we call it, here are many other items to choose from with our Eggs Benedict, Breakfast Buns, Smashed Avocado or maybe a Breakfast Waffle? All are made (where possible), with produce bought locally and cooked fresh to order, to your liking. All cooked by a team of chefs with over a combined total of 60+ years experience in the Pen Mill kitchen! Also available are a selection of locally roasted coffees, tea, and other hot drinks. Preserved fruit (dates and grapefruit), nuts and seeds, cereal, muesli, freshly squeezed orange juice, apple juice (not from concentrate) that you can help yourself to. It’s not a bad offering, we think, for a small 8 bedroom hotel.

Breakfast is served from 7.00am until 9.30am Monday to Friday.
and from 8.00am until 9.30am at the Weekend.
Bank Holidays from 8.00 am until 9.30 am.
Dog Friendly?
We most certainly are. Both Sarah and I are dog lovers and welcome well-behaved dogs. We provide a dog bed, dog bowls and a tasty treat for your pouches and have a fantastic field just across the road to stretch your dog's legs after a long journey. We do make a small charge of £10 per stay for this. Dogs are welcome down in the bar to join you for drinks, dinner, and breakfast but sadly not in the restaurant. We’ll hopefully be able to introduce you to George. Our wonderful Golden Retriever. He’s fast becoming a local celebrity!
Half Price Gym Use at Nuffield
Guests of the hotel are able to use the facilities of the local Nuffield Gym (BA20 1NR) for half price at just £5 per visit. Just show your Pen Mill Room Key Fob. The gym is less than 3 minutes drive, 10 minutes walk or a 3 minute jog!
Parking
We offer free of charge parking for all customers and guests. Situated right next to the hotel, no long walks in the rain and wind! It boasts 50 plus extra wide car parking spaces. Recently it was totally resurfaced to better than road standards! No potholes in my tarmac! Even your car stays in luxury! Our car park is also covered by our own CCTV system for added security.
Proof of ID - Trafficking & Explotaion!
We work strictly in conjunction with Avon & Somerset Police guidelines in trying to combat Child Trafficking and Human Exploitation.
If you are paying CASH for your room. You WILL be asked to provide at least one other form of ID in order to complete our security checks. This will have to be a debit or credit card in your name and either/or a valid driving licence or valid passport, regardless if you are travelling with a child or not.
If you are paying by Debit/Credit Card or BACS transfer or your company is paying the bill, no other form of ID will be required.
