Our fantastic hotel rooms are now on the map. the Taste of the West Silver Award was presented to us back in May 2019 but we have not had the chance to shout about it.
Well done to our wonderful House Keeper, Auntie Chris who keeps the Pen Mill spotless.
Our Christmas Party Season starts on FRIDAY 29TH NOVEMBER and runs through until SATURDAY 21ST DECEMBER. Every Friday & Saturday evening in between are our Christmas Party Nights (NB. Party Nights are only on Friday & Saturday evenings), we have a disco in the bar downstairs for our party guests (to which you are more than welcome to join). This runs until 12am and will be very noisy in the hotel rooms until this time. We also ask to allow 20 to 30 minutes for our party revelers to leave and this. With this said, certainly over the past three years, what I have described is a worse case scenario.
Sarah and I like to be extremely fair with our customer's and feel it is only fair we tell potential customers in advance of possible problems.
If you are looking to dine with us during your stay. It will be ESSENTIAL to pre-book a table.
In June of this year we made another large investment in the Pen Mill by replacing every stick of furniture in our bar and restaurant. With this we made the bold move of installing banquet seating in the bar or as we prefer to call it, Friends & Family Dining areas. It has certainly proved to be a hit with our customers with ever increasing compliments.
In the first couple of months of the New Year we have been spring cleaning all of our rooms with a fresh lick of paint. Although many of our rooms didn't need any touching up, we wanted to keep on top of the decorating and keep the rooms to an A1 standard, as our guest expect!
In February 2014 an almost £200,000 refurbishment of the hotel rooms took place bringing the rooms from distinctly average to a level far beyond the local average, indeed, far beyond the national average for hotel rooms, check out our Trip Adviser reviews! "The Best Hotel I've Ever Stayed In", "Wow", "Excellent hotel and Staff" from April and May 2014!

All wall colouring and papers were carefully chosen by a professional interior designer. The same designer also chose the quality furniture in all of the rooms. We left nothing to chance. The room themes have also been reflected on our website design.
All rooms now host a luxury en-suite, all with quality British Mira pumped showers (power showers) to unwind in at the end of the day or wake you up from a fantastic nights sleep. All of our front facing rooms have also been fitted with high quality secondary glazing units (we can’t have double glazing as we’re a historic Grade 2 Listed Building), these units virtually cut out all noise from the outside.

Yes, both Sarah and I are dog lovers and welcome well behaved dogs. We provide a dog bed, dog bowls and a tasty treat for your pouches and have a fantastic field just across the road to stretch your dog's legs after a long journey. We do make a small charge of £10 per stay for this. They are welcome down in the bar to join you for drinks and dinner but sadly not in the restaurant.
We offer free of charge parking for all guests in our adjacent car park, boasting 50 extra wide car parking spaces. It's just been totally resurfaced as well, so even your car stays in luxury! Our car park is also covered by our own CCTV system for added security.
